André Bellmont was born in Zurich, Switzerland. He studied at the Zurich Conservatory (today The Zurich University of the Arts). Further studies followed in Los Angeles at the Dick Grove School of Music (Composing-Arranging and Filmcomposition) and with Samuel Krachmalnick (Conducting). Since then he has been working as a Conductor, Composer and Orchestrator for different Film-, Theatre- and Concert-Productions, including musicans and performing artists like Andreas Vollenweider, Sue Mathys, Noëmi Nadelmann, Dianne Reeves, Phil Woods and Abdullah Ibrahim. He worked for Zurich Film Festival (International Film Music Competition), Solothurner Filmtage, Corso Theatre Zurich, Theater 11, Theater Rigiblick and Schauspielhaus Zürich, Theater des Westens Berlin as well as Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin. Dealing with international orders for Paramount Pictures Filmstudios in Los Angeles, Smeckey Music Studios in Prague, Budapest Scoring and Air Studios in London. André Bellmont teaches the core subject Composition for Film, Theatre und Media at The Zurich University of the Arts (Music Departement).
